Root Canal Therapy

Root Canal Therapy (RCT) consists of removing the blood vessels (nerve) from inside the tooth and placing an inert filling material in its place. Most root canals are done in one session of 45-60 minutes, depending on which tooth the doctor will be working on.

Why Do Root Canal Therapy?

A root canal i recommended when a cavity is so large that has reached the nerve chamber or when a tooth breaks close to the nerve. At that point the tooth becomes very sensitive to hot, cold, air etc. We also recommend a root canal when the tooth is abscessed due to trauma or an infection.
